Spring has sprung! What a beautiful Easter weekend it was! I was so thrilled to finally be able to wear some of my new spring goodies. I mean, I only started shopping in January! January. How crazy have we gotten, ladies?
I knew exactly what I wanted to wear on Easter Sunday for the past couple of weeks. I scored the J.Crew Liberty Toothpick Jeans in Emma and Georgina Floral on super sale a few weeks ago and have been waiting for it to be "spring" enough to wear them. The same day they came in the mail, I also picked up the chambray blazer from Target. I usually choose to "splurge" on blazers because of the amount of wear I get out of them (following my price per wear rule), and also because they tend to be more classic pieces (following my 70/30 rule); however, I decided to "steal" this time and buy the look for less at Target. Like I said, I started spring shopping in January, so I think I have spent enough...
Now, my original outfit plan included the heathered turquoise Tippi sweater and the fabulous beaded rose necklace from J.Crew. Don't worry, I will definitely wear that combo soon - it's a must! But, I ended up going with a coral Tippi, and my mint Andante necklace from Luxe Craving (but not before trying both combos on a few times)! I cannot get enough of this necklace for spring! It will definitely be on repeat. By the way, my rule of thumb for collecting Tippi sweaters is to wait for the sales! Every time J.Crew has a sale, I pick up a new color. The Tippi sweater is by far my favorite sweater. Very versatile and wearable all year long.
How AH-MAZING is this necklace? By the way, this is the same necklace, but in mint, that I won recently in a giveaway from Stephanie at Inherited Jeans. I have developed quite an obsession with statement necklaces. I blame Instagram! Seriously though, this is major for a girl who was afraid of accessorizing just a few short years ago. I just didn't know how! Now, I have a whole new outlook! Statement necklaces can completely make an outfit, and I often plan my outfits around the necklace I want to wear!
Floral pants are also a step out of the box for me, but I am loving them! This will be the only pair I buy for the season, as I need to remain practical, but I have so many outfit ideas for these pretties! I think the key to wearing floral pants (or any printed pants) is to keep all other bold pieces to a minimum. This time, I paired them with a solid color sweater, a statement necklace and neutral shoes and accessories.
