The Look for Less: Bow Heels & Wedges

When you think of bows, you probably think of Kate Spade. You can always count on Kate Spade for a classic and fabulous bow. I am constantly coveting the brand's shoes...and handbags...and jewelry...and clothing... However, my wallet isn't as big of a fan. I have recently stumbled across a couple of great look for less options for those of us looking for that perfect bow heel or wedge. A classic black heel with a gold bow or a pair red bow wedges will be perfect for our holiday attire. LC Lauren Conrad via Kohl's offers up a fabulous alternative to the Kate Spade Karolina. And, dare I say it...I actually like the Sole Society wedges more than the Kate Spade - gasp! So, go ahead and put a bow on it - guilt free!

Fab Finds Under $20

As temperatures continue to drop, my desire for super cozy clothes continues to rise. Dolman tops, leggings and scarves with a pair of riding boots becomes one of my go-to weekend outfits. Perfect for running errands, lunch with the girls, that trip to the cider mill or just simply getting cozy by the fireplace on a chilly fall night. This week's Fab Finds Under $20 features the necessary items to create that comfy weekend look. They all come in various colors and with a coziness factor of a perfect 10!

Fleece Lined Leggings | Cable Knit Infinity Scarf | Natalie Dolman Top

Fleece lined leggings? Yes, please! I've been wanting to add leggings in colors besides black to my closet, and at only $6.99, I can snag a couple colors. My faves are the burgundy, charcoal and emerald. The cable knit infinity scarf in mustard yellow or hunter green is perfect for fall and winter, and that dolman top in gray would go with any color legging or scarf you choose!

Do you have a go-to comfy weekend look?

Emerald Green

Emerald green is one of this season's "it" colors. In fact, Glamour Magazine called it one of its "Dos" for fall 2013 fashion trends. It should come as no surprise, as the hue was named Pantone's Top Color for 2013. I have always been a fan of deep greens. I AM a Michigan State Spartan, afterall. I bleed green. Emerald is a color you can wear anywhere and with anything. Pairing with neutrals is always a great way to incorporate a trend, but emerald would also pair well with other jewel tones such as garnet and sapphire. It will transition perfectly into the holidays and winter. I am loving it with plaids, sequins and different textured fabrics. This weekend, for a casual date night with my husband, I wore my new statement necklace from The Jewelry Lady with one of my favorite Target blazers. I paired them with a classic black and white striped top, suede boots and a leopard clutch. Next up, I'd like to try layering emerald with a lighter mint green.

Have you "gone green"with your wardrobe this fall?

Lauren of Fizz and Frosting added a pop of color to her leopard dress with a pink blazer. This combination of leopard and pink is so fun and feminine! We also love how she polished off the look with her fan fringe necklace and neutral flats.

Janelle of Janelle In Real Life brightened up her oh so cozy look with a chunky red scarf and some lipstick to match. Doesn't she look gorgeous in that shade of red? We are thinking we might have to give red lipstick a try too!

Rachelle of Pink Sole perfected the art of print mixing by pairing stripes and polka dots in this look. We love how she stuck with shades of blue and white and then added in those fabulous metallic heels!

Fab Finds Under $20

It is sweater weather! One of the many reasons I love fall. There is not much else better than a cozy sweater on a crisp fall day with a pumpkin spice latte in hand. Sweaters are great for layering, can be dressed up or dressed down and paired with fabulous scarves and boots. But, you know all that already. As a Michigander, I've built quite a collection of sweaters. Cardigans, tunics, crew necks, over-sized - I love them all! Sweaters can cost a pretty penny though. As much as I believe classic sweaters are worth the splurge, my wallet isn't endless. So, I am always on the lookout for budget friendly options, especially since my fall purchases have started to add up! Check out a couple steals I am loving right now from GroopDealz:

A tunic is quite possibly one of my favorite styles of sweaters. Pair with leggings and riding boots for a comfy, cozy fall weekend outfit.

Okay, so this adorable bow cardigan is technically not under $20, but it is so close that I included it. Wear to work or pair with denim for a casual look. The black cardi with white bows would look great with red pants during the holidays!

Are you as much of a sweater fanatic as I am?

Three-fer Thursday Link Up!

Happy Thursday, friends! Last week's link up was so fabulous, and we absolutely loved reading your posts. Thank you to everyone who linked up and shared their looks! We are looking forward to seeing what everyone has styled this week. So go link up your blogs, meet some new friends and get inspired!

Meet this week's featured three...

Megan of All That Glitters majorly scored when she found that Phillip Lim for Target skirt! The combination of leopard and mustard is perfect for fall! We love how she paired it with a peter pan collar top. And her top knot? Perfect!

Annick of Bold Subtlety added a pop of color to her classic black and white look with a simple red cardigan. This look is perfectly curated from the gorgeous blouse to the skirt and that fabulous Rebecca Minkoff bag. I think we may need to find a way to get our hands on those Joe Fresh sunnies too!

Jalynn of The Red Closet Diary went for the print on print look by pairing a striped sweater with an animal print skirt. We love how she kept everything in the black and white family, but then added the rich cabernet hue with her tights. By the way, that sweater has the cutest buttons up the back!

Deal Scoop: Target Blazers

Okay, so I know I just posted about Target on Monday, but I just have to talk about these blazers today. If you follow along on Instagram, you may already know the story... Last night I stopped by Target to pick up the houndstooth and/or plaid blazers using my 20% Cartwheel app coupon. While there I found one fabulous red blazer and one gorgeous burgundy blazer both in my size. Turns out these blazers were online only colors, so someone had returned them to the store. Right place, right time! When I was checking out, the cashier couldn't ring them up because they had no actual tag. He gave them to me for only $20, and then also applied my Cartwheel app coupon for 20% off. Major deal alert! Let me just say that I love these blazers. They have a very similar look and fit to the J.Crew Factory tailored boy blazer. I recently purchased the Factory blazer in gray and camel during a recent 40% off sale. I also had a 30% off coupon to apply as well. The blazers were a great deal. I wear blazers like they are going out of style, so naturally, I wanted more colors. These Target blazers are the perfect alternative. Now, you may not be able to score them at as great of a deal as I did, but they are currently on sale for only $30. If you shop in store, you get 20% off that until 11/2 by using your Cartwheel app (and 5% off if you are a Red Card holder). Totally worth it! Seriously, check these blazers out. So many colors to choose from. You won't be disappointed.

Target Merona Oxford Blazers

Confession: I may have ordered the green online when I got home (online only color), and I may go to another store tomorrow to get the pink with my Cartwheel app. Hi, my name is Meghan, and I am addicted to blazers...

On a serious note, blazers are always a good purchase. They are classic, great for work and great with denim and boots. I live in blazers, so the price per wear is always low!

Do you have a type of clothing item that you are so obsessed with that you want one in every color?

Fab Finds Under $20

We are accessorizing so much these days between arm parties, statement necklaces and layering necklaces. Our relationship with jewelry has really become a short-term one. There is always something new and trendy on the horizon. Since I am changing up my accessories so often, I am always on the look out for wallet-friendly options. Who wants to spend a ton on an item that they may be tired of in just three months time? Not me. It is no surprise that I love a fabulous deal. So without further adieu, check out a few of my recent fab finds under $20.

I am a big fan of statement necklaces, but I also love a more dainty piece. The Wishbone Necklace is perfectly understated, has a longer chain and pairs great with a sweater on a casual day. The gorgeous Crystal Mae Necklace comes in four colors and can be paired with anything from a casual tee to your LBD. And the Leopard Studded Wrap Watch? Well, that's a no brainer. Leopard is a neutral this fall, wrap watches are totally in, and the studs add that trendy, edgy vibe. The best part of all is that everything is under $20! Actually, it might get even better...both necklaces also have free shipping! Who wants to pay for shipping? Not me!

Do you change your accessories often?
Where do you find wallet-friendly options?

Fall Must Haves from Target

I think we all can agree that Target has really stepped up its game in the fashion department this year. In my opinion, the fall 2013 collection is the best yet. Target has every single trend covered. We're talking houndstooth, stripes, camo, faux leather, plaid and jewel tones. It is no secret that Target is one of my favorite places to shop. It's a great place to find the trends we love at the prices we also love. You can get every single fall must have for $40 or less! Major style on a budget just makes me happy! So go ahead and update your classics with some fall must haves - Target makes it guilt-free!

Fall Must Haves from Target

Blazers: Houndstooth, Boucle, Striped | Sweaters: Zipper, Striped, Elbow Patch
Bold Bags: Crossbody, Navy Satchel, Red Satchel | Faux Leather: Sweater, Jacket, Pants
On Trend Shoes: Camouflage Flat, Leopard Tuxedo Flat, Cabernet Pump
Ponte Dresses: Colorblock, Faux Leather | Accessories: Belt, Scarf, Necklace
Modern Blouses: Athens Blue, Dark Red | Essie Fall 2013: All colors

This season, Target also teamed up with Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific to style the fall 2013 look book. The outfits are perfectly curated and totally swoon-worthy. They kind of have a J.Crew feel to them. I have seen some of the items in the store, but there are definitely some pieces I have not seen yet. If this is the new Target standard, I'm a fan! Keep it coming!

Are you a Target shopper? What do you think of the fall collection?

Tory Burch Friends & Fans Event

Tory Burch surprised us all today with a Friends & Fans Event! I totally did not see this one coming! If this doesn't say "TGIF", then I don't know what does. This event comes at the perfect time, as I've been seriously coveting a pair of riding boots. I always wait to get my most coveted Tory Burch item at the Friends & Fans event. A couple of years ago, it was the Robinson satchel in luggage, last year it was the Caroline flats in Camellia Pink and earlier this year it was the Miller sandal in tan. So, what will it be this time around? As soon as I got the email this morning, I rushed to the site to find my favorite items. Obviously, I cannot have everything I want. I think my final choices will be the Kiernan Riding Boots and the Caroline flats in Auburn. The Caroline flats are THE most comfortable flats I have ever owned, so getting another color is worth it! How perfect is the Auburn color for fall? I am having a little trouble committing to the riding boots. They are a hefty investment, even with the 25% off, and I live in Michigan. Is it worth it to buy an expensive pair of riding boots with our weather? This is something I need to figure out and fast. Regardless, the Friends & Fans Event is the perfect time to get a great quality bag or shoes that will last you for years. It is the best deal you will get on Tory Burch items, so it is definitely a time to take advantage!

Check out some of my favorite items. Everything is 25% off until October 7 with the code FRIENDS.

Tory Burch Friends & Fans Event

Boots | Crossbody | Sunglasses | Loafers
Flats | Crossbody | Smartphone Wallet | Zip Wallet | Boots
Satchel | Crossbody | Wedges | Flats

Will you be shopping the Friends & Fans Event?
I would love to hear what you got!

Friday Finds: Mad for Plaid!

I have always been a fan of plaid. It is a classic print for fall and winter, but it seems like it is extra popular this season! I'm not complaining. I believe everyone needs a little plaid in their closet. A plaid or tartan scarf is definitely a must-have and will never go out of style. When I traveled to Ireland and Scotland earlier this year with my best friend, a classic tartan scarf was at the top of the list of things to bring home. I think it took us days to finally commit to our scarves because there were so many beautiful options. My love for plaid only increased after that trip. Most recently, I came across an adorable pair of tartan bow flats from Shop Ruche only to find out there was only one size left, which was not mine. Of course, now they are completely sold out. I immediately searched for something similar. I couldn't let them completely go. Enter the Forever 21 flats below. Day made! I can see these flats styled from fall into winter (perfect for the holidays). My plaid love doesn't stop there - check out some of my picks below!

Friday Finds: Mad for Plaid!

*On sale from $98 to $58 until 10/6!

I am extra obsessed with the Zara scarf. For inspiration, check out how Whitley at Simply Whit in a Sequined Life styled a similar one recently. This scarf is like a blanket - so soft and cozy!

What is on your wish list?

Embellished Sweatshirt and Boyfriend Jeans

Somedays you just need a simple, casual outfit. A comfy sweatshirt and boyfriend jeans always do the trick! The traditional sweatshirt has gotten an upgrade this season. You may remember a look for less post I did recently on embellished sweaters and sweatshirts. It is no surprise that I am a big fan of this trend and scooped up a couple for myself! My absolute favorite is this Old Navy crew sweatshirt. (currently on sale for only $17!) It is that perfect piece for when you are looking for something cozy, but stylish. I kept it simple with boyfriend jeans and flats over the weekend while running errands and going to lunch with my husband. There is not much you need to do to style an already accessorized top! We all need those easy outfits some days - just throw on and go!

Get the Look:
Sweatshirt: Old Navy | Denim: Banana Republic Factory (option) | Flats: Tory Burch (option)

Herringbone, Pink and Pearls

If you are on Instagram, you are probably in the loop... Today is National Herringbone Vest Day! Okay, so maybe it's not an "official" day, but we've declared it so on Instagram! I have had my calendar marked for almost two months now. For two months, we've all been waiting to debut this coveted vest on our blogs and our Instagram pages. A little much, you say? Maybe. But, you have to admit it is also a little fun. I am excited to check the #nationalherringbonevest tag on Instagram and see how all of my fashionista pals have styled it!

This time around I opted to style it with a neon pink sweater, chambray and pearls. Even though I am loving all of the rich fall hues, pink is one of my favorite colors to wear, and I definitely think it can be transitioned into fall and winter. Trust me, there are so many ways I have thought of styling this vest. You can expect to see me wear it with burgundy, camel/tan, plaid, red, green and classic black and white. I am sure you will see it on repeat here on the blog or on Instagram.

I love the how the pink pops against the herringbone pattern of the vest, and the pearls add a feminine touch.

Chambray and J.Crew Pixie Pants are pretty much my weekend wardrobe during the fall. Sometimes the weekends are just all about the comfort level!

A pop of leopard is always a must! Anything leopard is definitely a fall staple.

Outfit Details:
Vest: J.Crew Factory (sold out, option) | Pants: J.Crew | Sweater: J.Crew | Top: J.Crew | Boots: Banana Republic Factory | Necklace: J.Crew Factory | Bracelet: J.Crew (sold out) | Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs

If you haven't found the J.Crew Factory vest in stores, there are plenty listed on eBay and Poshmark; however, they are going for far more than the retail price! I've rounded up some great options below that will achieve a similar look. You may have already seen the $15 look-a-like from Walmart (yes, Walmart) floating around on Instagram!
